Oooooo, ooooo, here is our family friendly ghost! He is a "nice ghost," and LOVES to trick or treat!

Carter the pumpkin sure had a lot of fun in the trunk watching all the trunk or treaters! He was loving all the entertainment and I was too.

Our scary family! Brian didn't dress up because he said his Halloween obligation had been met through pumpkin carving and trick or treating. 
Last night for Family Home Evening we carved our pumpkins. Marcus and Tyson had picked out some great pumpkins a while ago and they were excited to make them into something. Marcus didn't mind getting a little goop on him but Tyson didn't want to even touch it. I made him once and he looked at me and said, "Now can you wash my hand?"
We had the boys choose what they wanted. Marcus chose bats, a Mommy one and a Daddy one. We didn't let the boys "carve" them but we did let Marcus draw a good circle around his bats.
He was very proud of his work! 
Tyson chose a ghost pumpkin, which he held my hand to "help" me make his.
And Carter...lets be honest, he didn't do anything to help but he did like to play with it after. He had a happy Frankenstein. It sure was a fun night together. FHE is GREAT! Thanks Daddy for really doing all the work. Listen carefully...he really is talking! This is on Ice Age and we have now adopted it. It is Carter's new favorite game and mine.
This past weekend has been so great! Brian had a convention for work in Sun Valley on Monday and Tuesday and asked his Uncle Ken if we could go early and stay at his condo and he said of course!! So our whole family was able to go. We had high expectations and we were not disappointed! It was so beautiful with the season's first snowfall which the boys took full advantage of. Bri took them out to march through the snow. When they returned they were sopping wet and drenched in delight. They warmed up with some hot chocolate and nestled in to hear our Church leaders speak in General Conference. That evening we went swimming in one of the warm and wonderful outdoor Sun Valley pools. Sunday was filled with General Conference again and a breathtaking drive (while the boys took a much needed nap). It was a peaceful weekend thanks to a perfect setting and powerful messages from prophets and apostles. Monday Brian went to his work conference (Idaho Hospital Association) and the boys and I took a walk around and looked at the ducks and elegant swans. They love trudging through the snow and pretending to "ski" in their snow boots. They are the best of friends, I love it! That night we let the boys decide if we would eat out or get takeout. They both independently decided we would be eating out. It was pretty cute how they discussed their decision together after they both decided separately. We ended the evening with some more swimming and caramel apples. Today we went and saw the work horses and fed them some grass. This was Tyson's favorite! He really enjoyed it and even got licked by one. Marcus was a little apprehensive about feeding them but liked watching them. Sun Valley was so fun, and I feel just as Marcus and Tyson do when they sing their made up song,"Sun Valley is the coolest!" Thanks Ken and Patty.
Our primary program was today and we have been practicing all week. Marcus did so good and we are so proud of him.
We decided we couldn't leave Tyson out, so we had him memorize it too. They want you all to know who you are.
While grocery shopping yesterday Marcus spotted a caramel apple package...he was with Dad when he made this discovery and so of course Dad was more then willing to get it. 
He was so excited to make them and had asked multiple times when we were going to make them, he had to be pretty patient but as you can see from the pictures it was well worth the wait.
Carter got in on the action too...he loved it!
